Digital Orthodontics

Digital dentistry is also utilized in the field of orthodontics.

Impression Taking and Modeling

Before orthodontic treatment, plaster models of the upper and lower jaws were traditionally created for archival purposes and to formulate a treatment plan. With digital dentistry, these models are now obtained through 3D scanning in a virtual environment. The use of large metal spoons is avoided, making it a preferred option, especially for individuals with a gag reflex.

Treatment with Invisalign or Clear Aligners

Invisalign treatment is a product of fully digital dentistry, as it involves orthodontic treatment without the use of braces. Measurements of the jaws, obtained through digital scanning, can be sent to laboratories abroad. Invisalign treatment planning is entirely done through a digital system, and transparent aligners are produced from models created with 3D printers. This enables access to both domestic and international laboratories.

Incognito Treatment (Lingual Orthodontics)

Incognito treatment allows quick access to laboratories abroad through a 3D scanning system for lingual orthodontic treatment, aiming to expedite the arrival of materials.

Orthodontic Digital Archive

After the completion of orthodontic treatment, the back teeth involved in the chewing process may shift for approximately 6 months to allow the bite to settle. After this period, 3D scans of the upper and lower jaws are archived. If there is any relapse in tooth alignment after 6 months, transparent aligners are produced based on the archived models. This allows for the realignment of shifted teeth without the use of braces.
